Port and Parks staff updated the committee on Crane Cove Park, saying a failed bid last year delayed the project but a new bid is out with mid-June submissions and a hoped-for in-water work window between July and November; staff expect completion by the end of 2019. To address scheduling constraints and other nearby infrastructure delays, the Port and Parks reallocated $1.5 million from Islais Creek to ADA improvements and solar redundancy work at Heron's Head Park.
Committee members asked about inclusive play for children with disabilities; Parks staff said all projects must be reviewed by an ADA coordinator and offered to return with a more detailed report about accessible playground features and enhancements beyond barrier removal.
Public Works and Port staff committed to updating schedules and milestones and to providing any additional documentation the committee requested. No formal action was taken at the meeting.
