OCII adopts commendations for departing commissioners Mondejar and Singh

The Commission on Community Investment and Infrastructure voted unanimously Aug. 6 to adopt two resolutions recognizing long-serving members of the commission.
In a morning presentation, commissioners read Resolution No. 22-2019, which commended Marilee Mondejar for her role as a founding member of the commission and for leadership on affordable-housing programs and community representation. Community member Helen Marte Bautista spoke in support of Mondejar’s service. After brief remarks from commissioners, an unidentified commissioner moved to adopt the resolution; another commissioner seconded and a roll call vote recorded four ayes. The motion carried.
The commission then read Resolution No. 23-2019 honoring Darshan Singh for more than two decades of public service on redevelopment and successor-agency commissions. The resolution traces Singh’s appointments to the Redevelopment Agency beginning in 1995 and cites his work on projects including Transbay, Mission Bay, and Hunters Point. Public commenters Oscar James and Doris Benson praised Singh’s role in minority-business advocacy and neighborhood projects. Commissioners offered personal remarks before moving and seconding the resolution; the motion passed on a 4–0 roll call.
Both items were procedural commendations and required no follow-up action beyond the formal adoption of the resolutions.
