DBI says permit-and-project tracking system on schedule for next Labor Day go-live

Bruce Yook of the Department of Building Inspection briefed the commission on progress toward a new permit and project-tracking system intended to replace existing workflows and integrate DBI and Planning environments.
Yook said the project is "on target for our go live date of next Labor Day," listing completed tasks including administrative documentation, the first quality gate, the Planning-DBI environment merge and completed specifications for business-tax and GovPay interfaces. He also described an inspection-scheduling integration (CLIC software) to improve inspection scheduling flexibility.
Yook said upcoming work includes continuing "to-be" analysis sessions with Accela and DBI subject-matter experts, finishing Central Permit Bureau and plan-review sessions and starting IPR and inspection services tracks. He reported "no key risks to report at this time." Commissioners and staff discussed integration points and confirmed outreach plans for public and customer communications as the project moves toward implementation.
Next steps: complete planning sign-off and remaining specification work in days, continue change-management and public outreach, and start the remaining implementation tracks ahead of the stated go-live date.
