San Francisco — At the Jan. 16 meeting, OCII staff presented marketing outcomes for two recently completed projects.
Staff reported that Blocks 53 and 54 in Hunters Point Shipyard (a phase 1 for-sale development by Lennar) included 159 for-sale units of which 16 were below-market-rate (BMR) inclusionary units; those 16 BMR units drew 85 applications during marketing. Deputy director staff noted that five successful buyers were placed through the rent-burdened and assisted housing preference and 11 through the live-in–San Francisco preference.
The Hunters View phase 2a Hope SF development totaled 107 units, of which 80 were public-housing replacement units filled by the San Francisco Housing Authority and 26 were newly created affordable rental units at 45% of area median income. Staff reported approximately 1,946 applicants for the 26 new affordable units; eight applicants in that pool were certificate-of-preference (COP) holders and three COP applicants were successful and moved into Hunters View.
Staff said further marketing details and case studies are included in the formal MOHCD reports provided in meeting materials. Pam Sims from the housing department was noted as present to answer any follow-up questions.
