At the Feb. 15 meeting the Building Inspection Commission voted unanimously to approve Administrative Bulletin AB 093, an implementation document updating DBI's green building submission forms and procedures to reflect the 2016 San Francisco Green Building Code. Barry Hooper of the Department of the Environment presented the item, describing minor updates—renaming submittal forms (GS‑1 series), aligning green‑building and energy‑code documentation, and removing an attachment no longer required under the current code cycle.
Commissioners welcomed the revisions but asked staff to provide cost‑effectiveness data and life‑cycle savings information to help applicants understand long‑term benefits, and to clarify incentives for historic buildings. Staff agreed to provide that analysis and to supply additional outreach materials to explain how the changes affect applicants.
The commission approved the bulletin by motion and unanimous roll call.
