At its May 4 meeting the San Francisco Department of Disability and Aging Services Commission approved a series of grants and contract actions aimed at expanding community-based services for older adults and people with disabilities.
Key approvals (all were approved by unanimous roll-call votes):
- Dignity Fund Community Needs Assessment: Commission approved the assessment and will forward the item to the Board of Supervisors for formal acceptance and adoption for service planning.
- Curry Senior Center: Authorization to enter a new grant for LGBTQ+ mental health connections and technology support from 05/01/2022 through 06/30/2024 for $1,300,000 (plus 10% contingency to $1,430,000). The program includes provider stipends, competency training, outreach, and a tech navigator to assess device and connectivity needs.
