’We have completed a rapid assessment of our local coordinated response to COVID‑19,’ Kate Chenowen, benefits and resource hub director, said when presenting the California Department on Aging CARES Act allocation. She told commissioners the state had allocated “approximately $151,000” to support the Shanti Project’s CERB volunteer COVID response work, which Chenowen said has already matched more than 800 residents with volunteers.
