Department of Building Inspection staff and the Department of Technology updated the commission on May 18 on the Accela permit/project-tracking assessment being performed by Gartner.
Henry Bartley (Department of Technology), speaking on behalf of Director Huey, said Gartner had completed its analysis phase and was drafting findings and recommendations. Bartley said he expected clearance to schedule stakeholder socialization sessions and that Gartner will present to the commission in June if timing permits. "The full report will be available... if it wanted to be added to the June agenda," he said.
Commissioners emphasized the value of receiving the assessment in advance of the meeting so they could review the recommendations. Bartley said Gartner planned to socialize recommendations with each stakeholder group prior to the commission presentation and that the June meeting would include time for Gartner to answer questions.
Public commenters urged the commission and DBI not to delay the project and to avoid diluting recommendations through forced consensus among stakeholders.
