OCII reports four developer teams for Candlestick Point housing RFPs

Staff reported receipt of four proposals for two Candlestick Point housing blocks, naming the teams and architects under evaluation; OCII will complete due diligence and return with a developer recommendation in a few months.
The Office of Community Investment and Infrastructure told the commission on May 3 that it received four proposal teams in response to requests for proposals for two Candlestick Point housing blocks (Blocks 10A North and 11A South), together proposing more than 300 housing units.
Executive Director reported that the submitting teams include Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation with Young Community Developers and Hermann Coliver Locust Architecture; Mercy Housing with San Francisco Housing Development Corporation and Paulette Taggart Architects; McCormick Baron Salazar with Bayview Hunters Point multipurpose senior services and HKIT Architects; and Integral Group with Tabernacle Community Development Corporation, Providence and GA Architects. For one submission Mercy also included David Baker Architects.
The executive director said staff will conduct due diligence, meet with teams, interview finalists and return to the commission with a recommendation in a couple of months. The RFP response pool was described as diverse by staff and the commission.
The report was informational; no action or vote on developer selection occurred at the meeting.
