San Francisco unveils All‑Hazards Strategic Plan and implementation roadmap

A Department of Emergency Management representative presented the San Francisco All‑Hazards Strategic Plan to the Disaster Council, describing it as an overview of 20 goals that cover prevention, protection, response and recovery. The presenter said more than 100 participants from 54 stakeholder agencies contributed through workshops and interviews.
The city will publish an implementation roadmap and convene disaster preparedness coordinators on April 4 to establish departmental points of contact, milestone schedules and guidance on meeting cadence. The roadmap includes suggested time frames (six months to one year) but DEM cautioned those are dynamic and may shift if major incidents require resources.
Council members were invited to review the plan booklets distributed to members; DEM also highlighted related program initiatives (community disaster hubs, public‑school disaster planning, interoperable communications efforts with Suwase, and an EOC renovation scheduled to open on April 16).
