The San Francisco Board of Education voted unanimously to approve three stipulated expulsion agreements and reported out several settlement authorizations after a closed session at its meeting Tuesday.
President Alexander moved to approve a stipulated expulsion agreement for one high‑school student (matter number 20242025‑11) through June 4, 2025; during the enforcement period the student will attend Bayview Care. The motion was seconded and passed on a roll‑call vote of seven ayes.
Alexander then moved to approve stipulated expulsion agreements for two middle‑school students (matter numbers 20242025‑12 and 20242025‑13), each covering the remainder of the current semester and the following semester through June 4, 2025. Both motions were seconded and passed on roll‑call votes recorded as seven ayes.
After recessing into closed session, the board provided a public readout identifying several Office of Administrative Hearings matters. President Alexander said the board, by a vote of 6 ayes with one commissioner recusal, gave the district authority to pay up to the stipulated amount in the matters of Student EA v. SFUSD, OAH case No. 2024090548; Student JK v. SFUSD, OAH case No. 2024060627; and Student JM v. SFUSD, OAH case No. 222090572. For two other OAH matters (Student AB v. SFUSD, OAH case No. 2024100320 and Student AL v. SFUSD, OAH case No. 440900586) Alexander said the board approved authority to pay up to the stipulated amount by a vote of seven ayes.
Alexander also announced that on two anticipated litigation matters the full board voted 7–0 to give direction to the district’s general counsel.
The board did not disclose the settlement amounts in open session but recorded both the case numbers and the roll‑call outcomes. Commissioner Fisher was explicitly recorded as recused from the three matters identified with a 6‑vote authorization; Alexander read those items by case number in the public readout.
The board’s public actions on expulsions and the closed‑session readout concluded before the Superintendent’s public report later in the evening.
