DBI says Accela permit‑tracking on schedule for December launch; training planned

Planning will perform internal testing in October and go live earlier for internal functions; the public portal will not launch until DBI’s public launch so that portals align across departments. Communications director Lily Magis outlined outreach and training plans, including targeted stakeholder sessions in November and drop‑in hands‑on public training shortly after launch.
Commissioners asked that code‑enforcement partners be included in training and praised staff for keeping the project on schedule. DBI staff said a soft launch and additional public‑facing training sessions are planned to reduce counter congestion when the system opens.
