DBI honors staff and outlines recruitment timeline for building inspector

The Building Inspection Commission opened its May 15 meeting with personnel recognitions and a recruitment update.
President McCarthy publicly thanked Shirley Hodge for nearly 29 years of service in the Department of Building Inspection. The commission also noted customer‑service commendations for Chief Building Inspector Neil Friedman and other DBI staff for recent acts of assistance and outreach, and acknowledged DBI participation in the Cinco de Mayo event in Dolores Park.
Cheryl Ueda of Alliance Resource Consulting, the recruitment lead for the open building inspector position, told the commission a recruitment brochure should be approved by May 20, after which the job will be posted both externally and internally; the tentative resume deadline is June 28. Ueda said the firm will circulate an updated recruitment timeline to the commission secretary.
