The board ratified a tentative agreement on an addendum to memoranda of understanding covering health-and-safety provisions with multiple labor partners, including IFPTE Local 21, SEIU 1021, UESF and UASF. Acting chief of labor relations Daniel Manesas presented the recommendation and said the item reflects negotiated updates intended to protect staff and improve site safety practices.
Union leaders who spoke during public comment urged the board to approve the addendum, saying the agreements represent months of work and would provide clarified health-and-safety protocols as students returned to in-person learning. The board took a roll-call vote and approved the ratification.
