The San Francisco Building Inspection Commission voted to appoint a slate of candidates to its Board of Examiners and swore in those present during the Jan. 16 meeting. The commission approved appointments to several professional seats that will serve through Sept. 15, 2010.
Commissioners moved and seconded a single motion to appoint the slate. Named in the motion were Mel Khamisa (electrical engineering), Manuel Flores (building trades), Kevin Rokovich (plumbing contractor), James Reid (electrical contractor), Robert Fuller (fire protection engineer), Jason Lincammer (architect), Armin Wolske (general contractor) and Ken Cleveland (high-rise sprinkler/building owner). One candidatenamed in the motion was recorded unclearly in the transcript. The commission called for public comment and, seeing none, voted to approve the appointments. Those who were present took the oath of office at the meeting.
Chair remarks accompanying the swearing emphasized support for the department and invited new board members to contact staff with any questions or to collect their onboarding materials. Commissioners noted that several appointees were absent and will receive instructions for completing their oaths later.
There were no substantive objections recorded on the appointments during the public meeting. The commission made the appointments by voice vote and completed the required oath administration for those in attendance.
