The Building Inspection Commission received an update that DBI is "halfway through our interviews" for a permanent director and that the panel will complete candidate interviews that afternoon.
The chair said commissioners aim to make a selection by the first meeting in February and that a special meeting to finalize the appointment is likely if more time is required. No candidate names or firm selection actions were made at the Jan. 22 session.
Commissioners urged the process be completed promptly so the new director can be in place for forthcoming budget and committee work. Staff indicated interviews would continue that day and that a final selection may be announced at the February meeting.
