A large group of parents, students and local advocates addressed the Board of Education during public comment to urge retention or promotion of the interim assistant principal at Paul Revere Elementary School. Many callers described the assistant principal as a stabilizing figure and asked the board to grant a waiver or otherwise allow her to continue in leadership at the site.
Parents and community members offered multiple first-hand accounts of the assistant principal's work: one parent called her "a ray of sunshine" and described her as "solution oriented, professional, committed to the children's success at Paul Revere." Other speakers (students and SSC members) said the assistant principal had improved school climate, increased parental communication and supported programs that benefited students.
Speakers also raised concerns about district administrative processes and asked for more transparency around waivers, hiring and the authority of the School Site Council. Several callers requested that the board consider a direct appointment or a waiver of the principal-selection interview for the assistant principal, citing continuity and community trust.
The board did not take an on-the-spot personnel vote in public session; the item was raised during the public-comment period and several board members acknowledged receipt of concerns and said they would follow up. The meeting's closed-session readout later listed personnel actions taken in closed session (contracts approved and nonrenewal notices issued for unnamed administrators) but did not identify individual personnel decisions publicly beyond the board's formal report.
Public commenters asked the board to listen to the community's requests and to prioritize continuity of leadership at Paul Revere; the board indicated staff follow-up where appropriate under district personnel processes.
