Board severs SchoolLoop contract for discussion; Norton seeks usage evaluation before renewal

The San Francisco Unified School District board severed consent calendar item K32 (the SchoolLoop contract renewal) for immediate discussion and a data request from Commissioner Norton.
Commissioner Norton asked that staff include last year’s spreadsheet alongside this year’s so the board can compare whether supports have increased or decreased and to measure SchoolLoop’s penetration among parents and teachers. “I would really like to see some evaluation and some data around how it's being used…how many parents are using it, how many teachers are using it, what's the impact that it's having,” Norton said.
Commissioner Feuer supported the request and described mixed experiences with SchoolLoop across schools and grades, noting the tool’s potential to foster deeper communication if used consistently. Staff said the district will provide the requested information and that a written update could be provided or the matter could be taken to the curriculum committee for further review.
After discussion, the board took roll call and the consent item (with K32 severed for discussion) was approved following the requested data commitment from staff.
