Board honors scholarship recipients and recognizes Title I high‑progress and high‑performing schools

SFUSD recognized dozens of scholarship winners from multiple community groups and presented School Quality Improvement awards to several Title I schools under the district’s new accountability system.
The board ceremony on May 27 included a large slate of scholarship recognitions and awards for school improvement under the district’s new School Quality Improvement System.
Community groups including the United Administrators of San Francisco, the Association of Chinese Teachers, the Latin American Teachers Association, Filipino Educators of San Francisco and San Francisco Achievers presented scholarship winners and described award amounts ranging from $1,000 to multi‑year scholarship packages. Several student scholars approached the podium to say where they will attend college next year.
Deputy Superintendent Guerrero also announced schools recognized under a No Child Left Behind waiver‑driven accountability system (reward schools identified as high progress or high performing). Principals from Ulloa, Paul Revere K–8, Rosa Parks, Garfield and Buena Vista Horace Mann accepted awards and highlighted instructional leadership and staff contributions.
Board members congratulated the recipients and community organizations and framed the recognitions as part of larger efforts to support student success and equitable opportunities.
