At the Oct. 9 meeting the Board of Education opened a public hearing on a tentative agreement between the San Francisco Unified School District and LiUNA, gardeners and laborers, Local 261, and voted to accept both the tentative agreement and the accompanying public disclosure document.
District negotiator Tom Ruiz (read by staff) recommended acceptance and thanked the bargaining teams from both the district and the union. There were no public speakers signed up on this item, and the board adopted the agreement by roll call vote.
The board did not discuss specific contract dollar amounts during the public hearing; staff thanked both bargaining teams for reaching the agreement and noted Mr. Courtney's direction of the labor team.
The action was recorded by roll call; the board accepted the tentative agreement as part of regular labor-relations business at the meeting.
