Board members questioned whether staff could assemble the information in time to advise families before enrollment‑guide deadlines and the enrollment fair; the superintendent said staff would convene on the issue and produce recommendations about process and timing within one to two weeks.
Deputy staff acknowledged competing interests among school communities and the need for a broader contextual analysis rather than an isolated review. Commissioners requested that any final recommendation be coordinated with the Committee of the Whole so the board and public could fully review options before a vote. The item remains at first reading and will return to committee or the full board as staff analysis and timelines permit.
