Asian Art Museum outlines free K–12 programs and teacher resources for SFUSD

Stephanie Gao, manager of school and teacher programs, walked the board through a typical educator packet, which includes background, lesson plans and content‑standards guidance, and confirmed the museum’s website and school contact email for booking tours: schools@asianart.org and www.asianart.org.
Board members asked whether board members and teachers could attend educator events; presenters said the programs are open to all educators and that the museum can provide passes and family programming to reduce barriers to access. The museum noted collaborations with other local museums and plans to expand outreach by placing materials online and bringing programs into classrooms.
What’s next: The district said it will work with the museum to post materials on the district website and to publicize the free admission policy for SFUSD students with ID.
