Vice President Norman Yee introduced the addendum and explained the need to maintain continuity through summer school and the gap between Chan’s original contract end date and the incoming superintendent’s start date. Board members thanked Chan for agreeing to extend her service and for facilitating the transition.
A roll call on the addendum and transition contract was recorded as unanimous approval. The contract and addendum were framed as temporary measures to ensure operational continuity until Carlos Garcia assumes the superintendent duties.
