Board endorses Proposition 1D, saying state school bond will aid local modernization

Commissioner Chin read the resolution noting the bond would provide state-level matching funds that complement local bond efforts, would help relieve overcrowding and reduce class sizes, and would fund modernization and safety projects. Commissioner Wynne urged active campaigning to ensure passage and said the district has sometimes provided a decisive local vote on state-school bonds.
The Board suspended rules to introduce the resolution and adopted it by roll-call vote. A public speaker noted a pending public-record request for the district's 10-day enrollment count; commissioners said staff would address operational questions related to the board's local bond planning.
The resolution instructs district staff and leadership to support the bond and to engage in outreach consistent with board rules and state election law.
