The San Francisco Unified School District Board of Education adopted a tentative agreement with Local 1176 (painters) during the Aug. 22 meeting. Senior executive staff described the agreement as following the pattern of other crafts tentative agreements and said it included a staggered compensation structure.
Senior executive director Tom Ruiz told the board the pay package provides a 9.5% wage increase and that the union agreed to a 7.5% employee pickup for the retirement system. No members of the public had signed up to speak on the item, and the board approved the public hearing and adoption by roll call vote.
The adoption was recorded as seven ayes on the roll call.
