Desmond said San Francisco has had relatively few schools enter state sanctions and that most schools accept resources and then exit the program after aligning curriculum and improving instruction. She said recent test results suggested several schools in the third cohort may be ready to exit sanctions and that, as of the meeting, the district likely had three schools remaining in sanctions across different cohorts (including Thurgood Marshall High School and William Cobb). Board members requested a written list of remaining schools and their cohort status; Desmond said details are in the board binders and she would provide information in writing if requested.
