At a glance: Planning Commission votes, continuances and key staff updates (Oct. 24, 2024)

The San Francisco Planning Commission met Oct. 24 and took the following actions in a full morning and afternoon session:

- Continuances: The commission continued multiple items, including 116 CUA 2830 Day Street to Dec. 12, 2024, and items 15A/15B (Central SoMa/Transit Center District matters) to Nov. 7, 2024.

- Consent calendar: The commission approved consent items (Case Nos. 2024-005761 CUA; 2024-002120 CUA; 2023-010718 CUA) by a single roll call vote, unanimous 6–0.

- Item 13 (inclusionary housing financing path): The commission recommended approval of a mayor‑sponsored ordinance that would create an alternative path to CDLAC/TCAC financing for projects agreeing to a 10% increase in inclusionary units affordable at 80% AMI; vote 5–1.

- Item 14 (524–530 Howard Street): The commission approved an uncodified ordinance to waive the Transit Center District open‑space impact fee for a developer building a pedestrian bridge to the Transbay rooftop park on condition the developer pay an estimated $2.3 million to the TJPA; vote 6–0.

- Item 16 (Greg Angelo Museum): The commission approved a conditional use authorization to legalize the Greg Angelo Museum’s general entertainment use at 225 San Leandro Way (San Francisco Landmark No. 318) with conditions limiting hours and guest counts; unanimous 6–0.

- Item 17 (229–233 Whitney): After extended testimony and negotiation, the commission approved a modified rebuild with conditions addressing massing, combined 5‑foot deep north light well, frosted glazing and removal of the fourth floor; vote 5–1.

Several public commenters, arts advocates and neighborhood residents took part in the hearing. Staff also briefed the commission on Board of Supervisors activity including interim legacy business controls and other policy items.
