The San Francisco Planning Commission met remotely on April 16 and took a series of procedural and project decisions, voting unanimously on each recorded motion.
The commission voted 6–0 to continue items 1–6 to the dates listed by staff, to continue item 16 (case 2017-015039 GRP at 350–352 San Jose Ave) to June 18 and to continue item 17A/B (1088 Howard Street) to May 21 after staff said a supervisor initially requested 30 days but re-notification requirements and staff review made a longer continuance reasonable. Commissioner Johnson moved the continuances; Commissioner Diamond seconded the motion and the roll call recorded six ayes.
On the consent calendar, the commission removed item 7 (1369 Sanchez) for separate consideration and approved item 8 (PCA to reauthorize and extend fee waiver legalization of unauthorized dwelling units and various planning code amendments) by unanimous roll call.
The commission also certified the recirculated final environmental impact report for the Alameda Creek recapture project prepared by the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission after staff described additional steelhead-related analysis and monitoring commitments requested by the Alameda County Water District. Staff recommended certification; the motion passed 6–0.
Separate project approvals recorded during the hearing included a conditional use authorization for 1369–1371 Sanchez Street as revised (the project sponsor added a ground-floor ADU), with the commission requiring design modifications including a reduced roof deck and alterations to a spiral staircase; the motion passed 6–0. For 93–97 Leland Avenue the commission approved demolition and replacement with a mixed-use building and added a finding endorsing flexibility to convert ground-floor retail to residential provided the ground-floor residential design guidelines are met; that motion passed unanimously. For 589 Texas Street the commission approved a conditional use authorization to demolish a structurally unsound dwelling and build a two-family structure and added a finding that an accessory dwelling unit may be added; that motion also passed 6–0.
Commission President Koppel closed the meeting after the series of motions. No roll-call no-votes or recusals were recorded on the motions announced on the record.
