Designers said the proposed scheme uses significant setbacks and keeps roughly 70% of the neighbor’s existing view depending on vantage point; commissioners concluded the design struck a reasonable balance between the sponsor’s need for additional living space and the neighbor’s concern for views and light. The commission approved the project unanimously, 6–0.
