San Francisco task force outlines local steps to implement Prop 64, urges local licensing and equity measures

Mavis Asseidu Frimpong, coordinator of San Francisco of the city's cannabis task force told the Planning Commission June 8 that the group has produced 84 year-one recommendations and is refining more specific guidance in year two.
"The issues are very complex," Frimpong said, outlining recommendations across three topic areas: public safety and social environment; land use and social justice; and regulation and city agency framework. She said the task force supports local licensing structures that build on state rules, targeted public-education efforts on driving under the influence, business operating standards, and options for public consumption spaces that could include dining experiences.
