Commission continues two large items, discusses extra meeting date and scheduling
Summary

At the start of the meeting commissioners considered items proposed for continuance. Staff announced that items for case numbers 2014‑1041DNX (First Street CUA / 390 First Street) were proposed for continuance to April 7, 2016, and that the Inclusionary Affordable Housing Program Planning Code Amendment (case 2015‑12722 PCA) was proposed for continuance to July 14, 2016 at the request of the Mayor’s Office of Housing so the ballot measure could be decided before the commission considered the matter.
Commissioner Antonini asked for the reason for the continuances; staff and the Commission discussed notification and scheduling constraints. Commissioner Antonini moved to continue the items to the requested dates; motion was seconded and passed unanimously 7–0.
Separately, commissioners discussed calendaring and whether to open an extra meeting date (June 30) to reduce backlog. Staff noted that three months’ lead time helps with staff planning and vacations; commissioners asked the department director to coordinate with staff and the commissioners before committing to additional dates.
Outcome: The continuances passed unanimously and staff will coordinate scheduling matters with the commission.
