Jody Knight, counsel for the permit holder, summarized the project — an eight‑unit residential building proposed to be built toward the rear of an underutilized lot adjacent to the historic Gaslight Building — and noted extensive prior review and approvals. Planning Department representative Scott Sanchez said the rehearing brief raised issues already considered at the initial appeal hearing and did not justify a rehearing.
Commissioner Rachel Tanner moved to deny the rehearing request on the ground that no new information was presented and manifest injustice would not result. The motion carried 4–0. The board returned to its calendar after the vote.
