The San Francisco Board of Appeals elected Vice President Frank Fung as board president and Commissioner Rick Swig as vice president at its Jan. 31, 2018 meeting.
Outgoing board staff outlined public participation rules and time limits: appellants and respondents receive seven minutes to present and three minutes for rebuttal, while unaffiliated members of the public are allotted three minutes. Cynthia Goldstein, the board’s executive director, gave logistical and broadcasting details and announced the withdrawal of item 5 from the agenda.
Fung accepted the nomination for president; commissioners voted unanimously to elevate him. Rick Swig accepted a subsequent nomination and was likewise elected vice president. The board then approved the Jan. 17 minutes following a voice roll-call.
The meeting proceeded to its scheduled hearing items after these procedural matters.
