The board granted an appeal relating to a site permit for a multi‑floor addition and conditioned the permit on the project sponsor’s revised drawings that remove the previously proposed Fourth Floor.
Project architect John Long told commissioners the revised set restores the original roof line, removes about 386 square feet of conditioned living space, and replaces the interior stair access with an attic hatch — changes the board previously requested. Planning staff confirmed the revised plans remove the Fourth Floor and remain consistent with the planning code.
Appellant representation argued that the revised massing still warranted scrutiny for privacy and light impacts; the applicant’s representative said the adjustments were responsive to board direction. The board voted to grant the appeal and to approve the permit conditioned on the revised plans dated April 4, 2018.
