The Planning Commission approved a conditional-use authorization to expand an existing residential care facility at 475 Eucalyptus Drive from five to ten beds.
Rick Crawford (Planning Department staff) said the proposed expansion would add six ambulatory and four non-ambulatory beds in a two-story house within an RH1D district and that the department recommends approval with conditions, noting the project "promotes the provision of community-based residential care for the elderly" and complies with planning-code requirements. Project sponsor Fernando Varro described the interior: seven patient rooms (four downstairs, three upstairs), four bathrooms on the second floor and one full bathroom on the ground floor; total building area reported around 4,000 square feet.
Commissioners asked for clearer supporting materials in the packet for future consent items, including floor plans and square-footage details, and confirmed the facility was licensed and in good standing with the state prior to the commission action. A motion to approve passed unanimously.
