The Board of Appeals on Aug. 16, 2017 denied an appeal challenging a July 11 issuance of an alteration permit for 571 Ivy Street, which authorized converting a one-unit building to two units and interior renovations.
The appellant was not present. The permit holder’s designer explained the scope of the work and the steps taken to mitigate dust and noise; Planning staff (Corey Teague) confirmed the work met planning-code requirements and that an over-the-counter approval process applied in this case. DBI Inspector Joseph Duffy said DBI had properly reviewed and issued the permit and had performed multiple inspections.
After hearing from the permit holder, planning and DBI, the board voted 5-0 to deny the appeal and allow the permit to stand.
Next steps: Permit holder to address any outstanding DBI final-inspection items and complete work under the approved permits.
