The ordinance implements components of the 2009 San Francisco Bike Plan; staff recommended initiating the solicitation and setting a future adoption hearing for Sept. 28.
Commissioners expressed general support for the city's multimodal transportation direction while noting the need to review details on how new requirements could affect building costs for some uses and how city-owned buildings are treated in the standards. Commissioner Moore moved to initiate the ordinance; the motion carried unanimously. Staff will release the ordinance text for public comment and return with a finalized adoption hearing packet.
