Planning staff presented an informational abbreviated Institutional Master Plan (IMP) for Miami Ad School’s proposed relocation from 415 Jackson Street to approximately 7,940 square feet at 1414 Dundas Avenue. Sharon Young of the planning department characterized the submission as an informational item under Planning Code Section 304.5 and said a conditional‑use application for the change of ground‑floor commercial space to institutional use has been filed and will be scheduled for a later hearing.
Young summarized the school’s operations and enrollment: Miami Ad School is accredited and operates multiple campuses internationally; the San Francisco campus currently serves about 96 students with a staff of approximately 26. The school does not propose additional parking at the new location, and the department reported no known opposition to the abbreviated IMP.
Commissioners asked scheduling questions and clarification on whether the relocation would require a separate CUP; staff said the conditional‑use hearing is likely in September and the department will proceed with a standard review timeline. Commissioner Antonini described the IMP as “comprehensive in the material we need to know about the institution,” and the commission accepted the informational IMP with no objection.
