San Francisco — The Board continued an appeal by Vic Chu concerning a rear second‑floor deck at 627 Geneva Street to June 8, 2016 to allow the permit holder to participate and to submit missing plans.
Chu, whose backyard faces the structure, said the deck and its privacy screen block light and intrude on privacy. Through a translator she described the structure as occupying close proximity to her bedroom window and urged the Board not to approve the permit.
The permit holder’s agent said the holder had a family emergency and requested a continuance; DBI staff confirmed the owner had since come to DBI and requested more time. Planning staff said approved plans were not included in the hearing packet and DBI noted a notice of violation history tied to the property.
After public comment the Board voted 4–1 to continue the matter to June 8, allowing the permit holder to submit plans to the Board and appellant in advance of the continued hearing.
