Board conditions 2355 Scott Street permit on revised plans after neighbor concerns

The San Francisco Board of Appeals on Sept. 2 approved a conditioned resolution for an alteration permit at 2355 Scott Street after the permit holder presented revised plans and reached an agreement with an appellant.
Jim Roth, representing 2355 Scott Street LLC, told the board the owner had revised the proposal to remove the subterranean parking and the planned basement and to change a peaked skylight to a flat skylight after discussing the neighbor’s concerns about structural impacts and deck access. "We have agreed to reduce the scope of work, to remove the basement... and we've also clarified... that we would have a guardrail between the decks," Roth said.
Planning staff (Scott Sanchez) confirmed the revised plans addressed concerns and that a special-conditions permit would be required to reflect changes to the building permit record. DBI Inspector Joe Duffy confirmed the work hours are governed by the police code (7 a.m. to 8 p.m.).
Commissioner Fung moved to grant the appeal and condition the permit on the revised plans dated 09/01/2015; the motion carried 4–0.
The board’s action preserves the permit but ties it explicitly to the revised plan set and special-conditions permit process; the record shows the appellant provided a signed statement indicating his concerns had been addressed.
