Board approves settlement, amends permit for Broderick Street house-raising project

SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Board of Appeals on Sept. 19 approved a settlement between neighbors and a permit holder to amend the building permit for a property at 2853–2857 Broderick Street.
Appellant Irving Zaretsky told the Board the neighbors had negotiated terms with the permit holder and that the agreement was satisfactory to the block. "We are very happy to tell you that all the neighbors on the block ... have come to a very great grama, and we're very pleased with it," Zaretsky said.
Counsel for the permit holder, John Kevlin, confirmed the parties agreed to revised plans and asked the Board to issue the permit conditioned on adoption of Exhibit A (dated Aug. 22, 2012). Commissioner Anne Lazarus moved to grant the appeal and adopt the revised plans. The Board voted 3–0 to grant the appeal, condition the permit on the revised plans and release a notice of decision and order.
What’s next: The permit will be issued with the agreed modifications reflected in Exhibit A; the Board noted no other rehearing requests would be allowed in this matter.
