Board upholds front-portion permit for 1266B Dolores, urges prompt filing to address rear-yard NOV

The San Francisco Board of Appeals on Nov. 18 upheld a permit for front-portion work at 1266B Dolores Street after Planning staff confirmed the application conforms to prior Board findings and that the front work falls within permitted scope while an outstanding issue remains at the rear of the property.
Planning staff told the Board the rear portion of the building had previously been reconstructed without a required variance and remains the subject of a notice of violation; the current permit application explicitly excludes rear-yard work but Planning urged immediate submission of a revision permit to resolve the outstanding issue. "We requested that they immediately submit the permit to address the issue at the rear," Planning staff Scott Sanchez said.
Contractor George Stratiodo and owner Vincent Tamara described attempts to secure permits and to remove unauthorized occupants; Tamara apologized to the community for prior mistakes and said he would promptly seek filings to address the rear-yard nonconformity.
The Board found that the front work is consistent with prior decisions, and voted 4–0 to deny the appeal and uphold the permit, while noting that if the rear-yard correction permit is not filed within a week the department may request a stop-work order.
