The Board on July 29 continued an appeal by a homeowner whose plumbing permit had been denied, directing the Department of Building Inspection’s plumbing division to contact the appellant and seek a path to resolution.
DBI staff outlined multiple active plumbing complaints at the property and said the chief plumbing inspector was not satisfied that the homeowner could perform the required work safely; DBI recommended issuance to a licensed plumbing contractor. The homeowner and supporters described experience and sought allowance to continue work; one commenter described substantial prior professional experience.
Commissioners asked DBI staff to coordinate directly with the appellant. President Fung moved to continue the case to September 9 and the board approved the continuance 5–0, with DBI asked to work with the appellant to address the outstanding code violations and inspection concerns before the next hearing.
