President Michael Garcia nominated Commissioner Peterson for vice president and described her background in law and community service. Commissioners discussed traditions on officer selection and seniority; Peterson was confirmed without opposition. Commissioner Mandelmann nominated Vice President Fung for president, and the board approved the elevation in a recorded vote.
