The Planning Commission unanimously approved design revisions for Mission Bay Blocks 26 and 27 after staff presented changes aimed at simplifying the facade language and strengthening the buildings’ vertical expression.
Planning staff said the project sponsor and architect responded to previous design comments by reducing horizontality, simplifying the materials palette, and improving upper‑story massing. Commissioners who had requested adjustments said the revisions met earlier concerns.
Commissioners deferred the informational Mission Bay presentation (item 14A) to a later date in May so the commission could focus on project particulars at this hearing. The commission voted to approve both 14B and 14C following a brief public comment period and positive staff recommendations.
