Board staff told commissioners that the board typically processes about 200 appeals a year. "When we've calculated that the last few years, it comes out. We get 200, 208, 209 appeals every year," staff said during the budget discussion. Commissioners asked for additional data about trends and the staff agreed to provide multi-year figures.
The court-reporter line item was discussed: staff said the budget includes $17,010 to cover the contracted reporter for 36 meetings. The board voted to adopt the budget as presented and noted it will be forwarded to the mayor's office and then to the Board of Supervisors for final action later in the summer.
