Project sponsor Mark Loper said the project adds 33 net units compared with an earlier entitlement and will target a range of residents including teachers and city workers. “This project proposes 60 units with 18 affordable units,” the sponsor said, noting the outreach and design changes made to address neighborhood comments.
Commissioners supported the project’s affordable-housing yield but directed staff and the sponsor to refine massing, soften the facade expression and reduce the roof‑deck visibility to adjacent lower streets. The motion to approve with conditions passed unanimously.
