Library CFOs said the substitution plus a reduced DPH work order results in annual savings of $12,694 while ensuring workplace safety and ADA compliance.
Several supervisors expressed concern about precedent for creating additional management positions citywide and noted long-term pension and benefits costs; the library reiterated that the proposed manager will ensure legal compliance and staffing continuity. The committee voted to forward the accept-and-expend resolution and related trailing legislation to the full Board with a positive recommendation (roll call recorded five ayes).
