Item 1: Public Health grant — The committee approved forwarding a retroactive resolution authorizing the Department of Public Health to accept and expend a $440,000 grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (through the California Department of Public Health) to support the State Physical Activity and Nutrition (SPAN) program and CalFresh Healthy Living over Aug. 1, 2024–Sept. 30, 2028. Preeti Rani (SFDPH) said the grant will fund staff support, training materials, technical assistance and evaluation across six pilot sites.
