Assistant District Attorney Stephanie Zudikoff told the committee the DA’s economic-crimes unit applies annually for grant funding from the California Department of Insurance; the grant funds investigators, prosecutors, and training specifically for workers' compensation insurance-fraud work. Zudikoff said the grant enables the office to pursue and prosecute complex fraud cases, and she asked the committee to retroactively authorize acceptance of the expanded award so the office can spend the funds.
There were no public speakers. The committee voted 3–0 to forward the resolution to the full Board with a positive recommendation.
